La tristeza del samurái

A crime committed in postwar Spain produces consequences for three generations of the Alcalá family and for those they've encountered across a span of 40 years. Conspiracy, kidnapping, murder, sexist violence, and torture are some of the ingredients in this exciting novel in which the characters from two parallel storylines—one in Extremadura in 1941 and the other in Barcelona in 1981—slowly begin to intersect, and readers are allowed into the psyche of each of them. The end result is a magnificent novel full of intrigue and investigations, love and hate, ambition and pain, and, above all, guilt—a scourge transmitted generation to generation.
